Wood And Warm Colors Create A Welcoming Ambience In A Spacious Kiev Apartment

Interior designers Maxim Doschinsky and Pavel Voitov of  ZOOI Interior Studio recently completed the design of a large apartment in Kiev, Ukraine. In the process, three smaller apartments were combined to form a large apartment for a young family and their guests. In interior design, the interior designers have focused primarily on wood and warm colors that create a cozy, inviting ambience. The furnishing style is modern and characterized by clear lines and shapes.

The client's request was for a spacious, cozy apartment that offers enough space for them and their guests. By combining the separate apartments, a large apartment with open living space with dining area and kitchen, bedroom and nursery with private bathrooms and two guest rooms was created.
Living room, dining room and kitchen all share the same open space. This modern living concept is particularly typical for designer apartments and has become increasingly popular in recent years. The living area is long and wide, with a white partition visually separating it from the dining room. In this room, the focus is on wood and warm colors, creating a homely atmosphere.
In the living area, the sofas are aimed at the TV and a window at the end of the room provides plenty of natural light. Brown and beige textiles harmonize perfectly with the wooden floor and give the room warmth. The warm colors are still paired with elements in white and gray, which creates a nice overall picture in the interior. The living room wall has transformed the designers into a large closet with handleless cupboard doors. Thus, a lot of storage space is available, without cramming the room with visible cabinets and shelves.
Behind the living room is the dining area. A minimalist black dining table accentuates the white walls, with a window overlooking the city.
The dining table is positioned under a chandelier with an original design and offers enough space for 8 people. In the evening, the privacy of the residents is ensured by opaque curtains in brown.
Opposite the dining area and the living room is the kitchen. The black cabinets and countertops contrast with the wood, while brass accents add a touch of glamor.
In this area, the warm charisma of wood is enhanced even more by the black color. All cabinets are handleless with a matte finish, giving the interior design a stylish touch.
Just like in the living room, the walls in the corridor are transformed into space-saving cabinets. The cabinet doors are black and shiny and go over into a wooden wall.
In the sleeping area, the bed has a simple wooden background with upholstered headboard, while clear glass has a view of the bathroom en suite. The interior designers have decided in this room for wood and warm colors that contrast with the furnishing elements in black.
Metal bedside tables and industrial-look pendant lamps add a modern twist to the master bedroom. There is no door between the room and the bathroom, but you can go seamlessly from one area to the other.
In the bathroom, the black wall behind the sink harmonizes with the dark cabinets in the bedroom, while the opposite wooden shelf is part of the bed headboard behind the bed.
The bathroom opens onto an area of white marble tiles that cover the walls and floor. The freestanding bath sits in front of the window, with a small work area next to it.
Behind the bathtub, there is a walk-in shower without glass partition. In this bath, marble plays the main role and comes in the form of large tiles both on the floor, as well as wall covering used.
The nursery is divided into two sections. The first is the sleeping area, which is decorated with the theme "little house". Wood and warm colors characterize the interior in this girl's room, where the natural effect of the wood is in perfect harmony with the pink wall paint.
A wide wooden sill creates a place to sit and watch from the floor-to-ceiling window. Under the wooden bench is also the heating, which has been successfully laminated, so as not to interfere with the modern interior design.
The second area of the nursery is a play area with the same theme - "little house". A floating desk creates a place to study while a bubble hanging chair invites you to read.
Another beautiful element of the decor in the nursery is the pendant lamp in the study area. It resembles a white cloud floating above the room.
The children's room also has its own bathroom, where the motto of the room in the form of colored glass on the walls reappears.
Wood and warm colors also characterize the design of the guest rooms. In these rooms existing wall niches are designed interestingly - in the first as Bettkopfteil and in the second as a small, separate work area.

Tips To Spend Less On Remodeling

It must be remembered that a remodeling consists of the arrangement of an existing work; either for deterioration, failure of construction or, for some other aesthetic reason.
Remodeling can not always be avoided and, in fact, it is not convenient to postpone it too much or let it go. After all, a house in good condition is fundamental and, as long as we take care of it, maintenance will be much easier and cheaper. Now, when the remodeling involves a laborious and intense work, it is advisable to apply certain tricks to achieve the desired result without generating a negative impact on the pocket.
Depending on the space to be remodeled (interior or exterior), the works can vary considerably. In some cases, you even have to fix, extend, modify something beyond the question you wanted to reshape in principle. In general, before, during and after remodeling it is necessary, at least, to carry out a revision of the electrical installations or the water or gas pipes.

How are the remodels?

All remodeling involves a preliminary study of the structure to determine what is to be fixed, how to take advantage of what exists and what other issues may be affected. Based on this, a preliminary project will be carried out that will serve to clarify what was observed in situ and the initial brainstorming.
Afterwards, the drawing is carried out, in order to indicate which the technical specifications that the work deserves are. And once the details are fine-tuned, the work begins and, in turn, a continuous inspection process is started, in order to ensure the achievement of a good final result. Of course, such inspection must be carried out by a technical director.
Now, what we really want to achieve is the good management of resources (both material and monetary) not only for the work is well done but to reduce to the maximum the stress involved in the changes that are happening on the fly. In view of this, below we offer a series of very useful tricks.

Tips to spend less on remodeling

Many times we do not realize that, before considering a laborious remodeling, the first thing we have to do is try to clean the area thoroughly and assess how serious the damage is. And in case there is none and we just want to make the remodeling for aesthetic reasons,  we must take into account no need to resort to radical measures, there are alternatives that allow us to turn the space or piece, without complicating us so much. In this sense, the following alternatives have gained great popularity:
             Wallpaper.
             Stickers
             Slate painting, among others.
Many times, we can disguise what we no longer like through the alternatives mentioned or else, change accessories, readjusting the arrangement of furniture or, even, applying some intelligent recycling techniques. For example: in the case of renovation of interior decoration, you can change the upholstery of a sofa (once it has been cleaned well) and introduce a couple of new pieces to give a different air to the room.

Organize your ideas and keep your mind clear

In summary, when remodeling without exceeding our budget, the main thing is to be clear about the reason for the remodeling (breakdown or caprice) to be able to assess the situation in an assertive way. Of course, it will also be necessary to take into account the aforementioned, which can be summarized as follows:
1.            Evaluate if you can repair and repair something on your own. And, also, always keep in mind what other structures may be affected by the changes we want to make.
2.            Inform us well before seeking help in those aspects that are more difficult for us (such as an electrical installation for example) and, before hiring professional services, request up to 3 estimates before starting any work.
3.            If the work merits the purchase of various materials and tools, it is best not to rush. We can visit several stores to look for the best prices and, if possible, the offers.
4.            Cleaning is always necessary before carrying out any type of work, and if we do it ourselves, it will not be necessary to resort to a cleaning service. Of course, there are exceptions.
In short, as long as we have a clear mind, remodeling will not be an excessive stress. And with the tricks we have mentioned, we can both plan and readjust to the changes that may occur throughout the process. In aesthetic cases, they can even shorten even the duration of the same, with which, we will get the results we want so much sooner.
